The Melissa Plant has serrated leaves and pink or white flowers. SOURCE A Mediterranean native, the Melissa Plant now grows all over the world. The main cultivators are Hungary, Italy and Egypt. The main producer of this Essential Oil is Ireland and is also grown extensively in France.ORIGIN Melissa Blend was originally used to give an uplifting sense to depressed people or those who seem more down than usual. PRINCIPLE CONSTITUENTS This Melissa Blend Essential Oil's chemical makeup consists of 25% Neral and 33.5% Geranial. HISTORY One of the earliest herbs to be known to be used medicinally, the Melissa Leaf was called the ‘Elixir of Life’ because of its association with its uplifting nature.
