BOTANICAL PORTRAIT The Ylang Ylang Essential Oil is extracted from the flowers of the Ylang Ylang Tree; a tall tropical tree that reaches about 65 feet tall. The flowers themselves are large, tender and very fragrant. They are yellow, pink or mauve in color. SOURCE Madagascar, the Comoro Islands and Reunion are the main producers of the Ylang Ylang Oil, though the Ylang Ylang Tree grows around tropical Asia mostly.ORIGIN In Europe, Ylang Ylang used to be a favorite ingredient to add for hair preparation. The word antimacassar derives from the origin of this oil for its ability to not stain any kind of fabric. PRINCIPLE  CONSTITUENTS This species of Ylang Ylang Oil has a chemical makeup that consists of 10% Linalool along with other trace chemicals.
