BOTANICAL PORTRAIT The Pine Scotch Tree is one of the tallest trees to have an essential oil extracted from it. Pint Trees stand almost 150 feet tall and have a flat crown. Pine Trees have bark that is a reddish color and the branches are is covered in needles that are a nice green color and that grow in pairs. It also bears pine cones and sometimes orangish-yellow flowers. SOURCE The Pine Tree is a native to the Eurasian area and today is cultivated mainly in the USA, Europe and in most parts of Russia where the tree can grow.ORIGIN Native Americans used the Pine Tree's needles and bark to prevent scurvy and to stuff mattresses to repel lice and fleas away from them while they were sleeping. PRINCIPLE  CONSTITUENTS The Pine Scotch Essential Oil contains 34.3% a-Pinene, 16.6% Limonene, and 15.2% B-Pinene. HISTORY The Ancient Egyptians also used the Pine Tree’s pine kernels in their cooking to add a certain kind of flavor.
