Citronella Ceylon (Indonesia)

BOTANICAL PORTRAIT  Citronella Ceylon's Essential Oil comes from a very resilient grass called Manna Grass. Citronella has a strong aroma and grows almost 3 ft high. The blades of the Citronella Ceylon Grass are wide and very thin. SOURCE Citronella Ceylon is native to the southeastern parts of Asia, particularly in the tropical areas and the islands. Citronella grows extensively on the islands of Sri Lanka and Java and is also cultivated in those countries.ORIGIN Citronella Ceylon has been used for thousands of years by the Chinese as a remedy to treat rheumatic pain as they saw the therapeutic benefits that this plant can have on the body. PRINCIPLE CONSTITUENTS The Citronella Ceylon Essential Oil contains 18-20% Geraniol, 9-11% Limonene 7-11% Methyl Isoeugenol, 6-8% Citronellol, and 5-15% Citronellal. HISTORY Citronella's soothing nature and wonderful smell has been used throughout history and is once again becoming a popular choice among aromatherapists.
