 BOTANICAL PORTRAIT  Cloves grow on a slender evergreen tree that reaches almost 12m in height. During the rainy season, long buds appear. When cloves change they are beaten from the tree and dried. SOURCE Cloves are native to a group of islands in Indonesia called the Maluku Islands. Today, Cloves are harvested mainly in India, Indonesia, Madagascar, Zanzibar, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Cloves are also an internationally used spice.ORIGIN   The word Clove comes from the Latin 'Clavus' meaning nail for its resemblance to ancient nails. PRINCIPLE CONSTITUENTS  The Clove Bud Essential Oil contains 79% Eugenol in its chemical makeup.
