BOTANICAL PORTRAIT A medium-sized tree, growing up to 15 feet tall, Frankincense grows wider near the top of the tree. Frankincense has dark brown bark and green needles. The Frankincense Frereana Essential Oil is distilled from the resin of the plant. SOURCE The Frankincense Frereana Essential Oil is distilled from Boswellia trees which are native to Northeastern Africa in countries like Somalia and Ethiopia. Our oil is imported exclusively from Somalia.ORIGIN Frankincense was used first as spiritual perfumery and incense. However, Frankincense can be used in coughs and respiratory formulations. Frankincense was a Holy oil in the Middle East as it was used for most ceremonies to communicate with the creator. PRINCIPLE CONSTITUENTS The Frankincense Frereana Essential Oil contains Limonene, Pinene, Borneol, Farnesol, Phellandrene and Myrcene in its chemical makeup. HISTORY Valued since ancient times for its medicinal, cosmetic, aromatic, and spiritual applications, the Three Wise Men were said to have brought Frankincense to give to baby Jesus as gifts. Frankincense is also mentioned many times in the Bible.
