BOTANICAL PORTRAIT The Chamomile Flower has a branched and erect stem that is smooth to the touch. The flower grows to a peak height between 15-60cm tall and bears long and narrow leaves. The Flowers of the Chamomile Plant bloom in early to midsummer and have a very strong but pleasant smell. SOURCE The Chamomile Blue Flowers are primarily grown in North African countries like Morocco, Algeria and Egypt. This particular form of the Chamomile German Blue Essential Oil is imported from Egypt.ORIGIN To the Egyptians, Chamomile was dedicated to the sun because of its ability to possibly cure fevers and to the moon because of its cooling feeling. Chamomile was originally used to calm the nerves and used in shampoos, cosmetics, and perfumes. PRINCIPLE CONSTITUENTS The Principle Constituents that can be found in the German Blue Chamomile are β-Farnesene at about 7%, Chamazulene at about 6%, α-Bisabolol at 8%, and α-Bisabolol oxides at about 27%. HISTORY Egyptians, Romans, Medieval Europe and all around the world used Chamomile. It was mainly used medicinally for malaria, headaches, fevers and urinary tract disorders.
