Litsea Cubeba (Philippines)

BOTANICAL PORTRAIT  Listea Cubeba is derived from a small tree with a scent very similar to Lemon only stronger. The fruit of this plant is shaped like a pepper which is why it is called Cubeba, the Hindi word for pepper. SOURCE Native to China primarily, Listea Cubeba is cultivated in Taiwan and Japan through the main cultivator is China themselves. They are also the chief users of the Listea Cubeba Oil.ORIGIN In traditional Chinese medicine, the root and stem of the Listea Cubeba Plant were used to treat a number of digestive problems as well as some sicknesses and illnesses. PRINCIPLE  CONSTITUENTS The Listea Cubeba Oil is 68% Citral. Listea Cubeba also contains vanillin, phenylpropyl alcohol, and ethyl alcohol among other constituents. HISTORY Listea Cubeba has been used historically in Taiwan and Japan for many digestive reasons.
